Ways to Get Started in Investing

By: Jack Hansen

You may be wondering, “What is investing?” Investing can take many different routes being either investing in land/real estate, the stock market, or anything that you may think provide future value. Many would also say that they invest in themselves by exercising, practicing meditation, or reading to help expand their knowledge. All of these activities are great ways to invest in yourself! Today, we will focus mainly on a couple resources/ways to help get started investing in the stock market.

One resource that I have really enjoyed having is called, Morning Brew. Morning Brew is a media company that delivers business news through emails on a daily basis. Every morning they send two emails to subscribers (free to subscribe!). One email gives information about the world/business markets while the other gives expert advice and information on a variety of different topics. These topics include mutual funds, index funds, stocks, etc. Having these two emails being sent on a daily basis is a game changer. Being caught up on business news and informed on how markets are likely to be affected in the future due to present events is a huge advantage to improve personal investing portfolios. Here is the link to get started: https://www.morningbrew.com/daily

There are also many platforms available to open a brokerage account. Some of these platforms are: E*TRADE, TD Ameritrade, Fidelity, and Robinhood. All of these are great options to get started and many of them are very easy to use!

Investing is something that takes time and knowledge. Knowing what is happening around the business world will help you develop a greater understanding of the markets along with helping you achieve success in your personal investing. To play the game, you have to know the game!
