How to Make Money Using Your Phone

Provided by IMC! Peer Mentor: Emily Otto

Now that the semester has gotten into full swing you might find yourself looking for some extra cash. Here are some different ways to use your phone to make some extra money! All these apps are completely free to download as well.

1. Fetch Rewards

This is a super easy app to use and earn money because it takes pretty much no effort at all! Once you download the app all you have to do is snap a picture of your receipt and submit it. You will then earn points for every receipt submitted and you can cash out for gift cards to pretty much any store. It only takes a couple of seconds each time and if you’re already shopping anyways you might as well get paid for it!

2. OnMyWay

This app pays you to drive without texting. Whenever you are driving over 10MPH and not using your phone you will earn points. You can then redeem these points for gift cards.

3. Poshmark

Poshmark allows users to take pictures of their clothes, shoes, and accessories to sell online on their app. The shipping cost of the items are already taken into account and Poshmark takes care of the prepaid shipping label so you don’t have to. Then when someone purchases one of your items all you have to do is package it nicely and drop it off at the post office. You can get paid directly to your bank account or Paypal! It’s a perfect way to clean out your closet and make some extra cash.

4. Swagbucks

Swagbucks rewards users “Swagbucks” for completing surveys, submitting receipts, watching videos, and purchasing cerain products. You can redeem these Swagbucks for a variety of different giftcards. My favorite way to use Swagbucks is to complete surveys in my freetime.

5. TaskRabbit

TaskRabbit is an app that allows users to find a variety of freelance labor work in their area such as shoveling, mowing, cleaning, and handy work. Someone will post a need in the app and users can respond and schedule a time they will complete that task. Users get paid directly through the app as well. This is perfect if you know you’ll have a little bit of freetime but don’t want to commit to having a part-time job schedule.
