Everyone knows money can be tight for college students. All our expenses can start to add up and we start looking for any way to save a dollar. Luckily for us, there are many great ways to bring in a little extra cash to lessen the burden. Here are my favorite side hustles for college students:
1. Donate Plasma at BioLife Plasma. If you aren’t afraid of needles or blood, this is a great option for everyone. By donating plasma twice every week, you can earn anywhere from $70-$90 per week. Sometimes they have special deals going on where you can make over $100 every week. Each donation takes roughly an hour of your time, which makes this hustle hard to pass up!
2. Tutor fellow students. There are always students looking for a little extra help with some classes, and if you have excelled in certain classes it makes sense to offer tutoring services. You can charge as much or as little as you want per tutoring session. It is a great way to make some extra money as well as help other students out.
3. Babysitting (urbansitter.com) or dog sitting (rover.com) is another fantastic way to earn a little extra money. If you don’t mind spending time with babies or pets, this is just the job for you. They are typically laid back and offers a lot of free time to get homework or other things done.
4. Driving for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, GrubHub, etc. If you have a car you have access to something many college kids do not. Having free time opens many opportunities, one of which is driving for a food service or taxi service. Companies such as Uber and Lyft pay a solid amount just for driving people around. If you want to make some extra money and don’t mind driving your car a lot, this is a great side hustle for you.
